…….in the Environmental Sector
 
  • Joint conceptualisation and development of NISP (National Industrial Symbiosis Project) an internationally recognised scheme to drive industrial symbiosis, linking businesses to consider the value and utilisation of waste resources. We sourced the Government funding, designed the software support system for stakeholders and delivered the scheme in England and Scotland. In its first year NISP attracted over £14m of DEFRA money.

  • Acted as sustainability advisors to a number of major PFI and BSF projects with a total value in excess of £1b. These projects included the Belfast Schools Partnership in their successful bid for contract to build schools for Belfast Education and Library Board and the Amey led consortium E2 in the preparation of their bid to secure the Edinburgh Schools PPP2 contract. 

  • Conceived and developed the Housing Quality Assessment Program (HQAP) on behalf of Communities Scotland. This was one of eight consultancies carried out for Communities Scotland, which, together with membership of the Board of a national Housing Association for 14 years, which has given an outstanding insight into Housing policy and technology.   
…….in Education: 

 
  • Worked with Coventry, Solihull and Warwickshire Partnership (CSWP) and the cross Warwickshire School and College Federations to develop the country’s first online application system and local area prospectus (CAP/LAP) for young people making choices at 14 and 16, an initiative that spearheaded the DCSF national agenda and technology that now operates across 21 Local Authorities.

  • Implemented the country’s first quality mark for employer engagement and enterprise with FE Colleges across the South East as part of the Action for Business initiative.

  • Strategic Direction of Education for both Strathclyde and Tayside local authorities and advisory support for the National Millennium Review of local authority human resource management and national initiatives in Special Educational Needs, Local Authority Governance and European and Multi-national projects and exchanges.  
…….in Industry: 
  • Joint conceptualisation with Skills for Care, and development of pioneering systems to placement match students and manage online portfolio evidence and assessment regimes in the Health and Social Care Sector.
